Don't want to take meds- please help

Kelly333, Welcome to the Panic Center! Start working through our program, it is located in your session diary. Start learning about panic disorder and it's effects on you. That is the first step. You're right, this is a learning experience and it will take some time but keep persevering. Call on us if you need a cheering section. As far as medications go, share your concerns with your doctor. Some members have found them helpful in controlling anxiety until they have learnt to do it on their own. With the help of your doctor try to pick the best one for you and your current situation. If you have any questions, we are only a few clicks away. Keep us posted. Danielle __________________________ The PC Support Team

Session Nine- need help

Angel, That's ok. Take a small step back and start doing these exercises slowly. Try slowly spinning on your chair and the other exercises and quicken the pace as you are able to exhert some control over your anxiety. Take it one small baby step at a time. Breathinggggg

Angel, Stop googling! Walk away from the computer and distract yourself or utilize your relaxation techniques for a little while. If you still feel anxious, don't feed into it. Start challenging your anxious thoughts. Ex: I have sleep apnea. Challenging thought: Sleep apnea only occurs in 2-10% of the population. I do not smoke, drink or are overweight, my chances of having developped sleep apnea are less. Ex: I'm going to stop breathing in my sleep and die. Ex: Sleep apnea is the temporary blockage of breathing, however those who suffer from sleep apnea are frequently awakened at night by their bodies recognizing and reacting to that obstruction. If you think you may have sleep apnea, keep your appointment and consult your doctor to be on the safe side. Until then, challenge those anxious thoughts and keep close. We will help you through. Hope this helps. Danielle _____________________ The PC Support Team

Fear of decision making

Hellogoodbye, Welcome to the Panic Center. Please take the time to read through our forums and work through our CBT program. It will teach you about panic and your panic cycle. As you can see, you're not alone. Baby steps. Start off very slow with a small decision for you and someone else. What time you should meet perhaps? If anxiety arises, start counteracting negative thoughts with positive ones. Once you feel comfortable move onto a slightly bigger decision. Hope this helps. Keep us posted. Just needed to write it down and vent

Beth, You've done a great job today trying to grab a hold of your anxiety! We are proud of you for continuing to persevere! Try channelling all that anxiety into something productive for an hour or two. Any kind of physical activity may help you expend some extra energy. Hang in there. Question

Shell, In the beginning it will be difficult, but the more you practice the easier you'll become use to and good at controlling your anxiety. Try carrying a sheet of paper and a small pencil with you. Write it down to help you see patterns of intrusive thoughts and challenge them when they begin to cause you anxiety or become problematic. How do I view my panic diary once I record it?

Squarepeg, If you would like to view your the results of your symptom tracker go to " Switch views" You can view your daily or weekly graph in addition to the information recorded. If you'd like to add another entry to your symptom tracker, look under symptom tracker, go to "update my diary". Hope this helps. If you continue to experience difficulties, please contact us via the feedback section. Danielle _______________________ The PC Support Team
