New to this

Hi All,

I am 30 years old. I have been dealing with anxiety and depression for about 12 years now. Mainly, started when I moved from home and went away to school. I have just started the 16 week program and want to put myself fully into this as I really have heard great things about CBT and well I am willing to try anything as I don't want to fear life as I do often but enjoy life.

I must admit that I often feel guilt as I have such a good life and wonderful people around me. I really want to stop avoiding them. I am doing everything I can I feel like. Therapy, Meditation, Medication and I am hoping this course will help as well.

New to this

I have learned that I really need to focus on the positives. But also not to beat myself up so much. I need to celebrate my successes, face my fears and just do the best I can. Also, that is ok to take a break and find your safe spot.

On Week 4- Struggling

Hi Everyone,

I am currently on week 4. I must admit when I started this I really felt that it was going to make a difference but I just feel that I am slipping even farther. I wake up most mornings afraid to face the day. I use alcohol to sleep. I have for years and I know I shouldn't. However, it really is hard to let go as it helps me relax. I feel that I am doing as much as I can but I keep missing work.

Any thoughts would be helpful,

Week 8- Need some assistance

Hi There,

I am currently on week 8. I am just wondering how you go about reviewing the weeks session as I'd like to read it over again. Also, I found it a bit overwhelming and am at a loss about to go about finding my core beliefs. I just am confused because it seems like a lot. So any suggestion such as how to go about the worksheets would be appreciated.

Week 8- Need some assistance

Ok no problem.

I guess with all the worksheets I just find it a bit overwhelming and not sure where to start?

In week we were given a lot of sheets so I guess I am just struggling to map out the best way to go about it?

I do my thought record each day but then you have the experiment form, the problem solving sheet and the additional 4 that came in week 8. I guess I just need some help how to best navigate it all.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Week 8- Need some assistance

I have been taking a week to do each session as well as taking sometimes two weeks as needed. It can become quite difficult with my own work and the amount of work that there is. I am doing the thought records each day, scheduling pleasant activities. Though maybe where I am lost is the problem solving form?

In terms of my core beliefs I find a lot of my thought records are something like: I can't do this, I will have a panic attack, I have stay home where its safe, I just want to be normal like everything else, I am afraid people can see my fear, it will be too stressful and so on.

In terms of the sheets for week 8. Where should I start?

It is the beliefs survey, uncovering meaning worksheet, assumptions worksheet and relationships beliefs worksheet.

Week 11- Relationship Inventory

Hi There,

Is there any way to get this sheet? It says not to move on until we do it but only provides the sample. It looks like it won't open until I complete the session so I am confused.
