Hugs, it good to hear that you were given some help with care giving and were able get a little respite yesterday..I know how important respite is for a caregiver as I was one a long time ago. I am hoping your sibling starts doing this on a regular basis. I know if I would have had respite on a regular basis it would have made a huge difference for me..and I am sure I would be in much better health now..Even if you don't go out when they come just having someone to take the responsibilities and load for a couple of hours helps a lot..
I think needs versus wants were one in the same thing for me when I was a caregiver..I wanted and needed so many basic things. Like sleep for one and peace of mind that the person I was caring for could be cared for by
someone else even if just for a little while. The list goes on and on. Relaxing in a chair with a good book, Shopping for groceries without having to worry about rushing back..Just lots of things and everything..
Most people take their freedom for granted and have not concept at all about all the sacrifices that are make or all the hard work that goes into being a caregiver..I think it is one of those things in life that person has to have to done, before they can really appreciate all that goes into it.
My wish for you is peace, rest and more freedom..I will be praying that you get what you want and need soon.
Know that I understand and will be thinking about all that you do as a caregiver.
