I was weaned of of effexor after I had been taking it for a little over a year, and yes it was pretty tough to get off of. I found that a quiet place and a good book often helped me to keep my mind occupied and off of my withdrawal symptoms. I also learned a way to kind of laugh at them as well. My brother saw the way i would fidget coming off of the drug and called that my "junky shuffle". When the symptoms would get bad I would just smile and think, well I'm dancing my "junky shuffle" again. For me the worst of the symptoms lasted for about 48 hours. After that it got a lot better very quickly. I hope you bounce back quickly.
