Quote of the Day:
You can do what you want to do, accomplish what you want to accomplish, attain any reasonable objective you may have in mind - not all of a sudden, perhaps not in one swift and sweeping act of achievement - but you can do it gradually, day by day and play by play, if you want to do it, if you work to do it, over a sufficiently long period of time.
- William E. Holler
I was annoyed after some contractors left a bald spot on the lawn, following some plumbing, especially since it was on the neighbour's side of the grass. The neighbours are so helpful. I had to compliment the heavy equipment operator though, on how accomplished they were in each of their trades, but as he left with the cheque, he stated it was just practise over a "long period of time", just as above.
My emotional timetable needs a "sufficiently" long time, with "suffficiently" as the operative word. I used to look forward to the achievements with swift & sweeping acts, but now that's behind me, leaving me to take the baby steps.
One meditation today was:
The Next Small thing
When I don't know what to do,
let me do what love requires
I I cannot make a choice,
Let me do the next small thing.
Step by step show me the way
from one small act to the next
For in these small acts of love
your Spirits light will guide me.
