Good evening members! I received the following response from a member of the SSC via e-mail and I thought I'd share it in the hopes to inspire and to show that even though this individual never posted, he was lurking and listening.
Dear support team, Here is the wonderful news, I really did quit. Its now been officially 1 year and it feels great to be able to say I dont smoke! I have to admit that 5 years ago I quit drugs too. That was really hard but I feel great now that I'm free of all my addictions. After I quit, about six months in, I did experience a case of negative thoughts but i guess that must of been my system cleaning its self. I also did play the fighting game a lot this year. "Go on smoke a ciggy," and then the other side of me saying, "Dont you dare!" But through it I really did it! I did it! I did it! My only regret is that I wished I had never started because food today tastes so good! P.S. When you really want to quit its easy. But I had to quit. When you have to quit because of things like asthma attacks, keep positve and quit big time! Best Wishes to all Richard
Richard, Thank you for taking the time to write us. We congratulate you on your first year smoke free and wish you continued success! Danielle - Bilingual Support Specialist
