I get infection every time I go to a hospital so I started antibiotics before I went. Yesterday there was a lot of pain and redness that was still here this morning. It passed by noon but took dragging out the heavy pain killers before then. I'll stay on the antibiotic for another week at least to be on the safe side. The worst is over and it looks like it is going to be fine. Just knowing there was a possibility if infection should have caused anxiety. Karin saying it looked horrible didn't help, but there really wasn't any anxiety or panic. This is really a good feeling. So back to gardening now.
Thank you Red. My friend helped me with the beets and then I put in the pole beans. I did get the last of the picabella petunias and the bells of Ireland in. Still have phlox and big petunias. They are going in flower boxes later. Sill have a hundred or so Marigolds and a dozen or so Hibiscus. Karin will likely have to do my bending for a while. I could certainly use a rest. Days are still long and getting hotter. In a week or so we can take the boxes off the squash.
The flower bed Sunny planted when she was staying here is doing very well. It has filled out and some stuff is going to flower already. Both her roses are coming back after a lot of winter kill. Hollyhocks are on their third season although they were supposed to seed and die. Lemon balm is healthy and the lavender is doing very well. I have a lot of rosemary that I don't know where to plant. Tulips are still flowering. Lilacs are in bloom. Cedar Waxwings are eating the petals off the apple trees. It is slowly getting done.
Davit
Oh and we have four mushrooms 15 inches across in the green house.
Hi Davit, Best of luck to you with your surgery tomorrow and remember no bending over and turning on the sprinklers when you get home either..Since it's been getting hot again it might be a good day to sit under one of your trees or on your deck with one of your kitties and nice glass of ice tea after you get home.
Not a good day to have a flare but I do. I'm not surprised though. Yesterday was long. Took some more pills and I'm resting before going back out to fix a couple of sprinklers. I have pole beans to plant too. Beets are in though so that is good. Tomorrow will be hot so there will be some watering to do when I come back from the hospital. It might be late.
I'm going to try to get more flowers out today too. Weeds should be showing their ugly heads soon. Hottest part of the day is coming up now. I don't like the heat.
I can hear the wind chimes so there must be a bit of a breeze. All the bushes we put in are still alive.
Odd to think that I started almost three months ago with seeds in the house. And not that long ago I was keeping a fire going in the green house. Time seems to pass fast.
Trying to get as much planted as I can because after the operation I will not be allowed to bend over for a few days. Eyes heal quick though so it shouldn't be more than a few. Beets and pole beans are the important things right now. The eye patch comes off in a few hours and eye drops go in. A person can see now.
Two down, one to go. The van has come and gone and we now have the trailer home so now we can put it all together, boat motor and trailer. Just cataract surgery on Monday and things can settle down for me. Not so for my friend, she will want to unpack things and change things around. Me I will go back to gardening. Where I am happiest. But at least there will be no mote long trips that waste whole days. One phone call tomorrow is all and I can spend the whole day outside, rain or shine.
What a lousy day. More phone calls. Moving van will be here tomorrow morning at nine, I will be glad when that is done. My Doctor was grumpy and it wasn't my fault so I stood my ground. Not my fault if he is busy because he takes too many days off.
It was too hot to put in cabbages today. Possibility of rain tomorrow or the next day. Well tomorrow morning is the moving van in the morning and the next day is going to Jasper to pick up our boat trailer. People are talking about fishing and here I am trying to get my garden planted. Well we will have everything together so we can go if we have the time.
My bread is rising very slow because my friend decided to open a window for fresh air. The day is passing and I can see where it will be another late day. I'm doing things indoors when I should be out doors.
After the cataract surgery I will not be allowed to bend over for a few days so I better have my garden planted by then or my friend will have to help me. It is amazing how a few interferences can set a person back. I must admit though that I am doing twice as much this year because well there are two of us to feed. And we added some other one time only things that won't need to be done next year. It will all work out, and if it doesn't I don't care. I'm going to plant peas in among the raspberries because I don't have time to put up pea fence. What ever it takes to get by.
Too many phone calls and too many Emails interfering today. Still 20 cabbage plants to set out if it rains again tomorrow. I need to make bread too and finish a casserole and I have DVDs to return to the library. I get tired just thinking of all there is to do. It is slowly getting done. Traded Richard some space in my garden for some welding. I trade a lot.
I'm so tired. Have to make a trip to Jasper to pick up our boat trailer Thursday. Monday I have cataract surgery. A couple of days after that things will settle down again. The good thing is if all goes well I will be able to see in my right eye again. Then six weeks later I get the other one done. Just part of getting by but some times it can be stressful.
Good thing nothing bothers me anymore.
Not like my friend, she worries too much about too many little things I think. Everything works out.
Davit.
Looking forward to that morning coffee. God I sound almost normal :-)
