just woke up to a bad day. i'm 8 years trying to quit, thats a few quits a year every year for all that time. all those day ones, day two's over and over again. right now i feel i'd smoke except for the fact i always quit again so i'd only wind up back here. it just goes on so long, i'm worn down, i don't know if i can make it

something goes right folks...i very nearly smoked. i was down at the hospital for my injection and i met my friend peter there and i took a cig from him. he didn't have a light and in the moment it took to ask someone else for a light i changed my mind and gave peter back his cig. i wonder have i quit nrt too soon? i could go back on to 7mg patches for a fortnight. but then i'll have to go through this all over again.

icl you won't have to fight this the rest of your life, the elder quitters all assured me that thinking about it gets less and less as time goes by. just like an alcoholic who can't have a sip of alcohol i can't have a puff of tobacco unlessi want to live like an addict and i don't. eventually the good days will outnumber the bad days. i remember when i quit before for four months being amazed one day that i hadn't thought about it the whole day. that was after only 4 months. that's what i'm looking forward to
