Windy,
You are doing great in this quit and the way that you are feeling is perfectly normal. I know you probably feel like you are the only one who feels the sense of discouragement and frustration, but we have all been through it and it really is temporary. Just hang on and get through this. Do whatever you have to, just DON'T smoke. You aren't copping out at all. You're just working at reversing something that has become such a huge part of you and your body has to re-adjust and it will. C'mon now, chin up, put on your kickin butt gloves, and let's get this done!

Sometimes there are days when I still feel somewhat shaky with my quit and a helping hand would certainly help with my resolve. I need all the help I can get. A mentor would be great! Maybe we can assist each other.
Hi Dave and welcome to "Hell Week". It sounds like you're doing very well with the quit. The picture of your precious ones can be a great source of inspiration. Come to this site and read, read, read, and post often. There are so many warm people on this site that can be of great help. We've been there too, so we fully understand. Hang tough. Time to kick some Butt! :)

I survived my weekend trip! Going back to visit my family this time was certainly different but I never lit up, even when I was in the same room with 4 different smokers. The "old habit" part toyed with the idea, but I didn't really crave it. My mind flirted with the thought whenever we stopped at certain places where I would have lit up before, like rest stops among other stops we made along the way. My husband was very supportive and each time I voiced any concerns about it he would remind me how well I was doing and how proud he was of me. It wasn't as hard as I had imagined it to be. Whenever I DID start to feel uncomfortable about it, it was never really a craving, as it was more just the thoughts. On our way home, whenever I'd start to "pine", I would think back to a couple days before I quit, when I got physically sick from smoking a cigarette. The way it made me feel and how it scared me was enough to settle my mind, because I never want to have to experience that again. SO...I am STILL going strong. Thank you all for your confidence. I DID IT! :p

I've heard them too. They fuss and fight, both trying to make you see their side. Hmmm, one trying to rise above the other. Luckily, we have the common sense as being the mediator of the whole process, which shows us that we are bigger than our foolish thoughts.
