Yes, I'm ready, Martha. It's true you have to have a plan in place when you travel and I need to do that too. This site has been a lot of help to me.
I guess I'll have to reset my meter. Danielle, I know going cold turkey is harder than again maybe not. I have to play it by ear. I hope my slip will help me along the way so that I don't repeat it.

Thanks a whole bunch Stickin To It. It's true...there are a few people who we thought would never quit and they did. Got to it take one day at a time.
Tomorrow is another day but it's not here yet so I won't worry about it. I guess that's how you have to do it eh?
The interesting thing is since I've been off the patch I don't have stomach cramps. It's quite the relief and it's making my quit a lot easier. I suppose NRT isn't for everybody. Chantix didn't work for me either. So I have to go at it cold turkey. But at least after 3 days of quitting the nicotine is out of your bloodstream. It's more just a habit then needing nicotine in the system...although you do crave it nonetheless.
Hope you all have a good night. Talk to you all tomorrow.

It's going not too bad Martha. I'm pulling through a little bit at a time. I guess I'll have cravings for some time. I had a terrible craving earlier and I decided to go back on the patch. It's helping somewhat. I've got another 4 weeks of Step 1 and then I'll decrease the dosage after that. I did 10 days before which is an unbelievable amount for me so I know I can do it. Got to persevere.

Btw, Martha, I tried to download Road to Success and I couldn't do it. It's too complicated for me. I guess I'm not a computer whiz.

Hi Ilovemylungs
I'm also on the patch. Have 4 more weeks of Step 1 and then I'll be weaning off after that. It does help. I'm also going through some cravings but nothing I can't tolerate. I'm hoping it gets easier.
Hang in there. You can do it.

Well almost completed Day 1. Things aren't too bad. Hanging in there. I know it's not worth one cigarette. I will accomplish more than my 10 days, I plan on being successful this time. When I slipped it didn't do anything for me. It just reminded me of how things were when I was smoking steady. Wheezing and coughing. I'm not doing that any more and it feels good.
I have to admit that tonight I really wanted a cigarette. I ended up going to the hospital tonight and get my right arm checked. I took a flying leap and feel on my right arm 3 weeks ago. They took x-rays and found out I have a hairline fracture. Waiting in emergency I could smell somebody who had a smoke and it triggered me in wanting to have one. I talked myself out of it...realizing that it was a trigger and nothing else.
I'm looking forward to Day 2 in my recovery.
