Hi! I am new here and I have been getting what I think are panic attacks for a couple of months. My doctor gave me blood tests and ran some tests on my heart and said that I am healthy but I am not so sure.
After a panic attack I feel strange for days after. My head gets a weird feeling in the back of it and my face tightens up also I feel like I am in a trance like state.
The first panic attack I had felt like I was having a heart attack. My heart was beating so fast that I went and laid on the sidewalk for a minute because the feeling was so intense. It eventually went away but I was extremely scared after that. I thought for sure I was dying.
The last one I had was so intense. I thought this one was a stroke. My face started tightened up so much that it was burning. I ran out of the house in my socks yelling "Help Me I need to go to the hospital now" I ran for a little while and then I laid flat down on the sidewalk. This scared my girlfriend so much that she started to cry because she didn't know what to do. I came back into the house and laid on the floor and was very nauseous and feeling like I was going to throw up. More than an hour later it passed, but I was exhausted over the experience. It happened a couple of days ago and I still feel the effects.
Once during an attack the side of my mouth was twitching uncontrollably and it lasted for days. I would go and look in the mirror each day to see if it stopped and finally it did. This happened about 2 months ago and I haven't had the twitching since.
The panic attacks recently seem to start with a weird sensation in my head and a tightness in my face. I have always had anxiety around other people. Everytime I go out I become anxious. I am also a very nervous person and I worry alot plus I keep alot inside.
My doctor has put me on Zoloft. He seems to think that it is just panic attacks.Does this sound like a panic attack or could it be something more serious?
