Hi! I was diagnosed about 4 weeks ago with anxiety and panic disorder. I am on Celexa and Xanax when I need it. I have been on it for about 2 weeks. I tingle all over as a result of this medicine so I called the doctor and he told me to take 10mg instead of 20mg. Has anyone else tingled as a result of this medicine?
I have been doing a lot beter lately. I am in school full-time working on a Master's degree and was really stressed out over a presentation last fall. I think my problem started then when I had a bad panic attack and went to the emergency room and they couldn't find anything wrong. I felt chest pain, shortness of breath, rapid heart rate that wouldn't slow down for several hours.
I didn't have any more episodes for over six months and about a month ago, my Mom was diagnosed with breast cancer, plus I am still in school, and some other stressful things in my life were going on and it started again. I was sitting in a recliner and all of a sudden my heart rate shot up to 160 beats per minute and I felt light headed and had some chest discomfort. I was scared to death!! I went to the doctor the next day and they did several tests on my heart but could find nothing wrong, so he thought it was nothing more than anxiety/panic attacks. For the next week after that it was horrible. I was having several a day but not full blown ones. I started the Celexa and I really think it has helped but it has given me mild headaches and tingling so hopefully the lower dosage will help.
I am thankful for this website to help me hear other people's stories and see that I am not alone in this battle. I hope and pray that my condition continues to improve as well as everyone else out there. This is a frightening disorder but also very treatable. Have a great day! ABC :)
Yes, I have had a headache for days. I suffer from migraines also. I have a lot of tension headaches too. They hurt down into my neck and shoulders.
