How to avoid Holiday Stress Part 5

Dear Members,

Don’t expect perfection.
Holiday TV specials showcase families living nearly perfect lives, but in reality we know this is not the way it is. You may be late for dinner, your partner may forget to put the trash at the curb, and your dog may eat your slippers. These events happen to everyone. Accept that imperfections are everywhere and that no family or person is perfect.

Seek help when needed. You may find yourself feeling overwhelmed with sadness or anxiety, tense, unable to sleep, irritable and hopeless, and unable to return to daily activities. If these feelings persist, talk to your doctor or a mental health professional.

Cymbalta

Sugar,

Welcome to the Depresssion Center.  Using the activity tracker is simple, just click on "Mood Tracker" in your Toolbox (under Interactive Tools), in the calendar click the appropriate date "Create Entry" then fill out the form and click "Save my results."  You also have the option of printing the Mood Tracker Monitoring Form and filling it out by hand.

To review your results click on "Your Notes and Medication Usage" at the top of the screen and for a view in graph form click on "Daily Results."   Let us know if you require further assistance.

About Cymbalta, some individuals may develop tolerance as they require dosage increases inorder to maintain the benefits.  Consult your doctor if you feel that it is not working as effectively, perhaps he/she will prescribe a change in dosage or a different medication.

Also, if you are taking Cymbalta, avoid alcohol, MAOIs, and other central nervous system depressants.

Hope this helps.

I finally have my answer

Mom of 3,

Echoing Goofy's words, you are not the defective one.  I hope the exercises in this program and the counseling also helps you realize this.  I admire you for being the rock for your son, raising him by yourself...you have much to be proud of!  The change of scenery is a good idea and I hope you find a new place to settle and start a new.

Hang in there, things can only go uphill from here.

Update on Windsy Jan 05, 2009

Wildcat,

Good to hear you are doing well!  Thank you for raising awareness and addressing the issue of stigmatism many individuals face as a result of being labelled by an illness.  Members have any comments?

Continue to strive forward, you are doing great!
