I DID IT!!! :-)

Get yourself a bottle of water and an assortment of chewing gum ( cinnamon, spearmint, fruit ). It really helps with the cravings and is an alternative for the sunflower seeds. keep it up. The first week is the toughest....

Starting Over again

Hi DJ,

Good to know that you quit again. I find that whats helping me quit smoking is my bycicle. I bike to go work and sometimes after supper I do an intense session of cycling around a park near my house.......I find that helps me forget about smoking and keeps the weight at bay...

Anybody quit smoking and lose weight?

Keeo yourself next to you a 1 liter bottle of water and buy chewing gum. When you get an urge to smoke use any of the two or a combination of both. For me it works and its fun...

Also, get yourself a bycicle ans start biking...you will feeel great...kill the urges to smoke and you will lose weight also

My 2 great motivators

Hey....

Personally my two great movtivators to stop smoking are:

1) Kissing. Ever since I stop smoking my girlfriend cant stop kissing me. She says that I smell great. This is very important. Kissing is a great way to promote intimacy in your couple..You dont want to trade your partner for a pack of smokes do you....

2) Exercise. Cant really workout and smoke and the same time. It is one of the other....Smoking and exercising is like trowing your money to the fire...

Any takes on this...

My Quit Date: 6/12/2008
Smoke-Free Days: 40
Cigarettes Not Smoked: 800
Amount Saved: $100.00

What?s your favorite method?

Initally mine was cold turkey...Then I bought a pack of nicotine gum to help me with the cravings. I did not finish all the pack. I found that they were burning my mouth. I find that I am succesful drinking water, chewing sugar free gum and doing exercise. Cycling has been a very big help... I also read and listen to music.
