Congratulations on 10 months smoke free! 👍 "They still smell good when someone is out having a smoke break" They still smell good to me too, even after almost 9 years of being quit. It's just something we have to learn to live with I guess. Have you had any issues since quitting, or are things working out for you now? It looks like this last "umteen" attempt of yours actually worked out for you. I bet you're feeling good about that. 😉 Never give up, never surrender a wise man once said.

It's nice to hear success stories from people that finally quit. I'm glad you stopped back in and gave us an update.

So 10 months later and I have officially not had a cigarette in that time.

They still smell good when someone is out having a smoke break, But I know if I have one it will be the death of me.

I did puff on a cigarette twice after my official quit date. All the steps of the patch were done, and I had been three months in the clear (so about 5 months ago). First drag was horrible - gag, cough, sputter, choke, wheeze, yuck...blah.

Second drag was because the first one wasn't dumb enough in the first place 😋

So...smoking is over and done with. On to the next challenge

Oh...this is motivating me to quit. I have been having on and off "quits" for months. I really need to find a way to make it stick.

Maybe I will quit next week...

We will save so much money if we can do this. Plus I am pretty sick of being a smoker. I just wish I wasn't so dependent on the damn things!

Welcome to the site! "Umteen" time huh? Well at least you are still trying.👍 One of these times you just might accomplish your goal of quitting for good! Hopefully each time you failed before, you learned something. After enough tries you might have all of the roadblocks in your path to freedom figured out. What is the longest time that you have quit before? Are you going cold turkey, or do you have a nicotine replacement therapy to help you out? I was able to quit with the help of the patch. Not sure if I could have quit without it. 30 years... I smoked for 37. I'm here to tell you that you CAN do it. It takes a lot of willpower, and the right mind set. The freedom from smoking is a wonderful feeling. Wish I'd have quit a LONG time before I did. How much do you....did you smoke a day?

There is a lot of great information in these forums to help you out. A lot of people have failed, and posted why. You can learn from others mistakes, along with your own mistakes. Then there are a lot of people that have made it and conquered the addiction, and let everyone know how they did it. Everyone is different, no two quits are the same, but beating this Nicodemon is the common goal for everybody.

I'm coming up on my 8 year anniversary the end of this month. I still remember how difficult it was to actually decide to quit and then do it. I was more afraid of failing than anything else. Stick to it, and just take it one day, one hour, one minute at a time. Don't worry about tomorrow, just concentrate on today, this moment in life. This will be my "umteen" attempt to quit smoking after a few relapses.

Realize the money I'll save can go further towards my hobbies, my home, and education.

Plus, after 30 years....I think I've invested enough time and effort to make a change :)
