Hi Gaurav
The beauty for you is having quit several times you know you can do it. 6 months was a good stint. It just goes to show you can never let your guard down. You have sports to keep you occupied and good reasons to quit...to be better at your sports. 10 days is a great job...keep it up. Why dont you open up your own thread on here and keep a quit journal, also keeping us posted. Thats what lve done. As you lm in early days. Wish you much success!

I am 10 days without cigarette. I feel alright. Sometimes, there is an urge but the urge has been reducing as the duration without cigarettes has increased. This is my 4-5 attempt. In my last three attempts to quit,  I remained without smoke for 14 days, 7 days and 6 months respectively . Yes 6 months. I was really surprised and pissed off with myself to have started smoking again after quitting for 6 months. So this time, my challenge is to cross that 6 month period and still be clean for lifetime of course!!!.

Like last time, after 10 days of smoking, I generally feel nice. The taste buds and sense of smelling is back. The appetite had increased in first 4-5 days but now its back to normal. I go to gym and play golf. So that is a good motivation. I also intend to start playing Squash to improve my stamina and fitness and quitting has given me a new target to achieve.

Will keep you posted and would love to hear your perspective as well.

Hi Nativegirl748,
Welcome to the site. You are already five weeks into your quit, that is an awesome start to your freedom from the addiction!  "It's been tough and it still is but I'm determined this time" And you have made it this far without caving in. You are right, it can be tough, but being able to do this is also very satisfying isn't it? Be sure and reward yourself for all the effort you are putting into this. Is this your first quit attempt? How long were you a smoker? It sounds like you are doing great so far, keep it up!!!
Stay strong.
