Thinking about trying again

I certainly remember you and am glad you have come back.  I don't know about hypnosis, but I would not discount it.  The one factor that I would say overrides any method employed is desire.  Fear was never a good motivator for me, although I certainly knew deep down that I was taking a risk with every puff I took.  Perhaps you might want to start thinking simply in terms of doing something that is very beneficial to you.   In any case you have had some experience with the process and that can only be to your advantage.

Keep posting and let us know how you are getting on...

hey PB I remember you too, we quit around the same time.  You had some issues that impaired your quit.

Make up your mind this time, no matter what, you will not slip - protect your quit.  You are worth this, take care of it and you this time.  Sue

Welcome back PB, you know you're in the right place!  Another vote for Alan Carr here, I read it and it actually WAS like hypnosis for me - did nothing for months but it was always lurking in my mind (why are you still smoking?  who are you kidding you actually LIKE it? whisper whisper nag nag) and lo and behold I'm still quit over 2 years now.  Get er done, you can do it!

Hey PB....

Just as a side note...   I tried hypnosis once back in the 80's....  I ended up firing one up in the parking lot going to the car!   I'd spend my hard earned money on some Chantix or other NRT if it were me!  Then again, you are not me and everyone's quit IS different!!!   It may work if you really have a Positive Mental Attitude and a hellacious desire to quit!

Hi PB,

Only my second post here ... but like you have fallen off the wagon before ... ugghhh!!

I've set my quit date for Monday ... gotta tell ya though ... it makes me anxious just thinking about it LOL.  Allen Carr's book is great and someone just reminded me to pull it out and start reading :)

I'm hoping that by being involved, believing in myself and taking one second will get me through it :) ... although crawling into bed and pulling the covers over my head for 3 days sounds tempting LOL

Good Luck PB .. to both of us :)

Hey PB!

I remember reading some of your posts early on in my quit and wondered  where you had gone!   Welcome back!!

Prepare yourself well this time!!!  You look like a guy that needs to know and follow the 6 P's... Proper Planning Prevents Piss-Poor Performance!!!  Do read through all of the milestones in the program and work through the workbook, too!!  Lots and lots of good information in the forums, too!!   I pretty much spent all of my spare time here reading and learning and reading some more!  Then I just kept reading and posting and supporting all of my fellow quit buddies here!  I still feel that reading and posting helps re-affirm my quit!!!  AND, post if you get that craving that's bad enough to make you cave!!   Wait for the 5 responses and your crave will be gone!

So, prepare well and if you want this quit bad enough, it WILL happen!!!  N. O. P. E.!!!!!!

Hi PB,
I did hypnosis 1 time and my quit lasted 5 years. I was ready to quit at the time. I know it would not have worked had I not really wanted to quit and take it seriously. I still had some craves, it just was a lot easier to work through them. Had I known what I do now I never would have started back up after 5 years. I did not know so many things.
I hope you decide to make this your final quit and I wish you well
Pupikat
