Hey sweet sparky.... Slow and steady wins the race :) The NRT's will hopefully make all the difference for you. I think its a really positive step. Reach deep inside yourself and pull that strength, you CAN do this. PrincessC :) x

Sparky, you do not like using the patch, what ever helps ,you know 7mg is nothing, I took it off and feel fine, the hard one is 21mg to 14, and even worse 14mg to 7. Just keep it on long enough to get rid of the habits as this took a while for me. You know after a meal, talking on the phone, etc. The patch gives you time to deal with this, there is no shame in using an NRT, do it, whatever works for you ,it's the end result that counts. One day at a time :)Marie My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 87 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,314 Amount Saved: $348 Life Gained: Days: 11 Hrs: 13 Mins: 16 Seconds: 27

Sparky- Glad to be joining you in this quit! I've been around here since the end of May, trying to get it right. I am also using the patch. I will be out of town the rest of today until late tomorrow with non-smoking family, so I should be ok. Expecting to see a day under your belt when I get back! :) Have a super time with the family this weekend. Sparky, Congrats on quitting. There is no shame in getting extra support with an NRT to keep your quit. Keep us posted on your progress and don't forget to reward yourself for each smoke free day you accomplish! Danielle ____________________________ The SSC Support Team

I started my quit last night around 9:30. This time, although I do not like it, I am going to use the 7mg patch for the first two to four weeks. Maybe that will take some of the edge off. I know that I will be facing withdrawal when I go off of them. But my thinking is if I have enough days behind me maybe I will be selfish enough not to give them up to another puff. My daughter is in town with her family so that will keep me busy for a few days and certianly do not want my grandsons to see me smoke. Also there is a family wedding, so that helps. Phil, I will give you that smoke free day for you birthday ;p As for the rest of you that replied to my post my heartfelt thank you. Everyone have a great week-end.
