Cathyb, hang in there. I know this may sound silly, but it's all in your mind. The patches are taking care of the physical withdrawal for you -- the rest of it is a struggle within your own head. Don't let junkie thinking get the best of you. You have three days down. Every day gets you healthier and closer to winning your freedom. Keep close and post and read here as much as you need to. There's always someone here who understands and wants you to succeed. Sparky, We are happy to hear you are doing well! A positive attitude such as yours will certainly carry you a long way. I was hoping that maybe you could share how you maintain that attitude with our members? Do you have any affirmations you repeat to yourself? It could be helpful to your fellow quitter cathyb. Thank you in advance, Danielle __________________________ The SSC Support Team

I made it though my birthday okay and had a really geat day. Thank to all of you who have responded to my messages. Like some of you I was sadden to hear about Allen Carr. I had just finished his book and really have a postive outlook on this quit because of his writings. My older sister had quit for 13 years when she got lung cancer, my other sister didn't quit smoking and got lung cancer and my brother never quit and had all kinds of problems, heart, kidney & lung cancer; and they all have passed away. It has taken me years to deal with all of this. My excuses were one sister quit and still got it and one didn't and got it, so I must have it and it is only a matter of time so why quit. I have quit enought times now to know the difference. The plain fact is you feel so much better when you are not smoking and you feel so much more alive. I don't know what is down the road for me, but for today I just want to feel better, smell better and live better. I certainly hope every one is have a great day. I am choosing just that!!
