Sometimes I forget that I can "break things down". As a "detail person", I don't look at the whole picture, and work backwards from the goal, so I can manage at my pace or ease or experience. Then I get overwhelmed, since i don't realize that everyone really learns this way. There are few people who are good at a lot of things.
It's like that joke about how to "eat an elephant" as an analogy to a great task, with the answer being...one bite at a time...
I used be. I would have to travel for work, so I'd practise going the longer distance in small steps, until the day of the project. It was difficult since I worked alone, and would have to face some conflict at the end, but I eventually got used to that with practise too.
Your breaking down things makes things look easy, but it takes persistance to keep up the interest.
