Well done Bren!

That's such a hard thing for us women to do, and at least now you have some new clothes to wear. There's always something therapeutic about shopping ;)

There's a TV advertisement at the moment in Australia for Special K cereal, where there's a very large set of scales in the middle of a busy shopping centre. Nervously, a few women take their shoes off and step on the scales, but instead of a number coming up on the screen, a word comes up such as 'fantastic' or 'foxy' and other compliments. There is another ad in the series where the women go to buy a pair of jeans and the sizes don't have numbers, but compliments. I thought that was a great message to send to people, that we should be focused on feeling comfortable in what we're wearing and not worry about the numbers!

Kaitie.

P.S. I get judged for being a size 8 (I think that's a size 4 or 6 American?) and find it so annoying!

Hi Bren
Good to hear from you.  I wish I could be so decisive about decluttering, since I hang on to everything.

I don't think I understand the meaning of "you can't take it with you", but it's fuelled from parents who came through the depression, and living on very little ourselves.

Good to hear about your hubby.

As for how we look, I read that one of the large clothing model firms banned under-weight models, although I don't know how they did it.

Keep in touch, since you inspire me, and I'm sure of more people being inspired in the community.

I have been very busy the last few weeks,,as my husband unwent surgery for a torn rotat
So..i started a couple weeks back cleaning out my closets, chest of drawers, kitchen drawers and cabinetsor cup,but he is in therapy now,and doing well,my son got married, and that too is going well,so i have had some time to take a challange for myself!i desided to start cleaning out closets and drawers, then went to cleaning windows inside and outside...this time i was brutal to my clotheing issues,as i am tired of hanging onto things that may fit if i loose some weight,or what if,maybe..this time,i loaded it all and took it to consignment and charity!!!
Yesterday..went on a shopping spree, and got things that do fit,and that i can wear!!
I will never be a size 6-8 anymore..i am a size 12-14,and thats ok!!
It is part of accepting me wear i am right now in my life!
This has been so liberating for me too,,as i am creating a brand new me!
Bren
