Hi Shari,

Sorry for the delay on replying to this - not sure how this was missed.

Blogging sounds like a great idea. Everything on the site should be focused on anxiety in some way but the blog is intended to be a sort of journal so feel free to use it to talk about any thoughts you may have. The Health Educators don't typically check the blogs so if you need our help with anything be sure to post in the forums.

Hi Shari!

I haven't heard from you in the forums much lately and was wondering how you are doing.
The think blogging is a great idea..You can still post here in the forum and use your blog too if you want. Let us know if you start a blog and I will look for you there also let us know if it is ok with you if we leave comments on your blog or if you want to use your blog as personal journal and would prefer that we didn't leave comments..It is your personal choice and I will respect your decision..I used to write in my blog and used it as a personal journal and it helped me a lot...I may start doing it again too..

Take Care..

My new avatar is of Universal Studios in Florida.  I'm using that as my icon, because I am focused on moving back to the Sunshine State, in the near future.  It's funny how when one problem is managed, another or others take it's place.  I am grateful that I don't panic anymore and I am grateful that I am able to manage anxiety, right now, in my life.  The "challenges" that have replaced anxiety are:  Curing or managing:  Empty Nest Syndrome, Detachment:  from my daughter, my spouse, my current life, where I'm comfortable and secure, but not happy.  And, managing Menopause which is thankfully temporary and I'll be on the other side of it one day.  I know this is a panic site and the topic needs to relate to panic and anxiety, so I thought I could start using my blog, on this site, and then it would be okay to stay here.  I would still like to offer help in the form of coping skills and stay involved on the site.  I may get back into the posts, for help, when I move back to Florida, if anxiety arises again.  This site is a big part of my life and it would be another loss, for me, if I couldn't some how stay.  So, if I'm not on the boards, I'll be on my blog :)  I'm happy to stay in touch with everyone either way.  I'll keep reading the posts.  P.S.  Maybe a Health Educator could let me know...does the blog need to be panic and anxiety related also?  If so, I'll just read the posts and offer help, if I can, and then find a blogging site outside of the panic center and blog there.  I'll wait for a response before I start blogging here.  I just want to make sure it's okay to do that.  Thanks.

Saw pics of your pets - they are very cute too.  I knew a lady who bred chihuahas and rottweilers too!  (Sp.?)  She was very good, very careful and never sold to anyone she wasn't sure of.

Hi Shari:  I put an avatar of the true "Sunny".  I named her that because she brought sunshine to me when I was  very sad.  I had to have two dogs put down 6 months apart.  One was 18 yrs. old, the other only 11 but was having many seizures and was deaf and almost blind.  She is part yellow lab and ?  we don't know, lol.  Got her at the SPCA.  Actually all my dogs have come from there except one which came from a farm.  She is my sunny sunshine for sure.  I've had her for about 8 yrs. now.  Not sure how old she is.  The vet thought she might be 2 yrs. when I got her from them.   She was found wandering the streets, no fur on half her body.  Her eyes are what drew me to her and that she was the only dog who did not come to the front of the cage.  She sat back and waited.  She was there for about a month before I could have her so I visited and walked her when I could.  As you can see, her fur is beautiful and yes, I do spoil her.  :-)

Hi Sunny,

I'm excited for you.  I have a 2005 Kia Sedona and I love it.  What kind of dog do you have?  I have two Chihuahuas :)

Thanks for the welcome back.  My dog was happy to have me back too!  I'm looking for a used car and was wondering about Kias.  Still looking, I haven't decided what I want yet.  The decision just might be helped by the price!  Kind of exciting.  I've never bought my own car before.

Hi Sunny,

There's nothing like being recharged from a family visit :)  I feel that way too with my daughter visiting this weekend.  I was exhausted on Friday, laundry, errands and such.  But, when I picked her up from the bus stop and we went out to dinner, I felt energized by being with her.  Today, George and I took her car shopping, just to look and decide later, and we had a great time.  One of my past event triggers was that I used to have panic attacks in cars in traffic.  I had issues with other people driving (I wanted to be in control and stop the car if I needed to).  And, I had issues with liking my own large van and not wanting to ride in other smaller vehicles (claustrophobia).  So, you can imagine me riding around in different compact cars today with Dominique driving :) :) :)  I would say, initially, I had mild anxiety about it, I didn't have much time to decide if I would go or not, so I told myself I'd be okay and I was.  I used to panic at traffic lights, so the other funny, is that she was driving me around in claustrophobic cars in bumper to bumper traffic and we had red lights.  I, physically, relaxed my body and looked around and listened to the conversation.  And, I did really well and was glad for the exposure, but it was exhausting.  Now, I see why it's so important to reward yourself afterward, because you are reinforcing the positive behavior, and pardon my French, giving the finger to anxiety and negative behavior.  We went to the Texas Roadhouse for dinner and it was heavenly.  Everything tasted fantastic, from the bucket of peanuts in a shell (I didn't eat the whole bucket :), to the rolls with cinnamon butter, to the salad with home made ranch dressing and the tender and perfectly flavored sirloin skewers with vegetables on rice.  I also used humor to diffuse anxiety.  My daughter was looking at Kia Soul cars (the commercials have hip hop hamsters driving the cars).  So, I told the dealer, "I guess this is the only place where it's okay to sell your Soul".  We all laughed and then he was telling about the features and options and I asked him if I bought one, could I get mine with hamsters.  So, it was a lot of fun.  My daughter is sleeping over at her girl friend's house tonight and she and Jazz are going to meet another friend for lunch tomorrow before he goes back to college.  I think being with family is good for the Soul :)

Hello sunny,

Glad to hear you had a great time with family during the holidays. Now you can take the time to relax and enjoy what the new year has to offer.
