How have you grown?

Hi Ashley,
I find I'm slowly reach out, and beginning to take risks, and complementing my medical practioner's work with me.

I've learned about important concepts, so I realize when I'm in the panic cycle.  Also, sometimes I can rely on some people supporting me.  I realize how hard it was for me to begin to post, so i'm compassionate towards others who are viewing, and will someday help me too, and others, as we journey together

Carmie,
Thanks for your ongoing posts.  I find you inspiring, and it makes my days more bearable

One of the most important things I've learned is about the panic cycle.  It's been very empowering to understand how my the cycle works so that I can "break free" from the cycle.

It's been so helpful to learn what the symptoms of anxiety are.  So many times, I would spend time worrying about something that I was feeling and then I would learn that my anxiety was causing the feeling (and not something worse or more frightening).

Most importantly, just like Dorothy in "The Wizard of Oz", I've learned that I have the power to change the way that I am thinking and feeling and I've had it all along - I just needed to learn how, by studying CBT.

It's a great and wonderful feeling!

Learning to manage anxiety is a journey. The farther along you get in reaching your goals the more you learn and grow. The PC teaches members important aspects of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and the support group allows members to share what they have learned with others; so let’s do a little more sharing…

Since you first joined the site how have you grown and what have you learned? It doesn’t matter whether you have joined the site last week of last year, please share.
