Good morning:
Samantha, I've had half-marathon on my to-do list for a few weeks now! I started training for one that will take place at the beginning of April; Things were going well but a couple of things threw me off-course (a minor injury and a family vacation).
I was telling a running buddy the other day that my new training program (for a little while) is to run and run and run for as long as I want to - and then look to see how far I've gone.
Eventually, I will get back to following the Half training program . I do love achieving my running goals - but my number one goal is to not get hurt and to always be happy when I run - and sometimes the half marathon goal doesn't lend itself to achieving those.
I sometimes experience panic attacks while I am running - especially when I am very far from my home or where I've parked the car. So, this is all sort of exposure work as well. Also, running outside during the Maine winters is not always an option for me - and running on the treadmill for a couple of hours is a little on the boring side.
Anyway, I hope that you will share a little note when you run your half. I will be excited to do the same!
Spent a long time talking about that one - but another item on my list is donating blood (I've always been scared and I had an excuse for a while because of certain areas where I lived/traveled - but I believe that I am eligible to do so now - no excuses).
I would also like to take a bit of a drive on the interstate by myself - I get super anxious about merging :)
Thanks for asking - fun question!!
