Individual treatment and conflict

I think it's great and works even with a combination of things.  I read a book about anxiety and panic and then joined this site and did this program.  The real difference, that cured me, was the support group and health educators along with the program.

Hi:  When I went to support group for CBT some participants were seeing psychiatrists.  I remember them saying that it was a great complement to their treatment, no problem for them.

Thank you for your support!

The site is designed by doctors who specialize in Panic and Anxiety.  Please feel free to let us know how the program is working for you!

Davit,
The forum is a complement to individual work for me.  It's a touchstone for support.

Hugs.

My therapist did not mind me being here. She did not even mind if I asked questions related to the people on site. It was all information and information can not hurt unless it gets you into areas you are not ready for. That can easily happen if you are not seeing your professional very often.
Some doctors have a set formula for everyone and don't like you to deviate from it.

CBT is very simple, it is the people that are complex. CBT always works it is the people that don't always fit it, not the other way round. If it is not working then it is the persons perception.
This is why some doctors don't want you doing anything that will confuse the issue, this I think is okay but still there are those that believe in "my way or the highway".

Do you think being here interferes with your treatment? It never affected me.

I wonder if those of you in individual treatment have the following concern.
I sometimes post, and wonder if that information subtracts from getting better?  I suppose it's like seeing two professionals at once, and some things may be "hidden" or not "worked with".  Some doc's won't work with a person seeing another professsional but mine is okay with this setup.

Any thoughts out there?
