Wow it has been two years. I look back and I see successes and failures. The difference seems to be more a lack of time spent than anything else. Those that were successful were willing to put in the time and willing to dig for the answers not just give up. Some came for reasons other than help. Some were just using the forums as a chat room. Some even tried to advertise subtly. Those don't count. Some of the successes are still on going. That is called growth and is a good thing. Some are stalled by an idea in there head they can't get past. If they stick at it they will. It bothers me a bit that I will never know where those that leave fit. Oh I know some are still doing CBT on there own. You never really get to quit. You just get to do it subconsciously.
It used to bother me when I saw someone just not try. Not anymore, it is a personal decision that has to be made by that person. Some of the people that didn't try stand out in my memory some just faded away. But what really stands out is those that are now living better lives because they put in the time and effort to get better.
Has my time here been worth it. Yes it has. Things in my life are changing, getting better mentally, has made this possible. I have direction in my life and will probably stay on in the hope that I can be an example of what can happen if a person puts in the work. Not as good of an example as some others here because you would have to go back a long ways to see my progression and even at that my worst is before my time here.
Two years, doesn't seem like that long of a time considering what I got out of it. Not that long at all considering it is five years since my worst. That says something. I will never go back to that condition again. No need to, I have the knowledge and skills to prevent it.
Hopefully the next year will see more successes I can enjoy. And the failures. Well you can't win them all. Just have to let them go. Some things are not meant to be.
So yes it was time well spent, frustrating some times but that is life right.

Davit.
