Routine is just comforting most of the time.  Sometimes routine gets boring and you need to shake things up a bit and then when you want to relax, there's routine again waiting for you to comfort you. :-)

I find I need structure so I don't have to work at "creating" progress.  Also, that incremental  progress gives me some momentum, as little as it is.

True.

I find I need routine to give me purpose but also need change to keep me interested.
I love this time of year, I get out every day just so I can see the change in the trees. It is very pretty right now with about half the trees turned yellow.

Tip of the day
Change your routine.  You may find the house to be a welcoming environment, or your routine tasks to be comforting and easy. Your comfort zone, however, is also the place where your negative thoughts, fears and anxiety may linger, and you must try to escape it. Rising out of your comfort zone simply means that you should do things that you had never done before, such as engaging in different conversations, physical activities, watching movies alone, or even eating in a restaurant you have never been to.
