Challenging Social Anxiety

Good point Ashley. I know I have to rediscover again the joy of being with people. Interpersonal relationships are so important to our health and well being and challenging social anxiety is the beginning to better relationships.

Members,

Take a few minutes to think about how increased shyness or social anxiety disorder may be affecting your relationships. If you need help getting a clearer picture, follow the steps below:

•    Take out a sheet a paper and write down who is in your life right now in one column. In the other column, write down all the people who are no longer in your life since your depression, anxiety or shyness worsened.
•    On another sheet, take the individuals in both columns and express how you believe your depression, anxiety or shyness affected those relationships.
•    On another sheet, write down how depression, anxiety or shyness has affected your life in general.
•    On the last sheet, write down which relationships you’d like to focus on in which you’d like to reduce your sensitivity or shyness.

Tune in next time when we will talk about the next step…
