Thanks for the warm welcome gang, and yes sunny Hasslehoff is an icon for middle aged single women.  I used to play the pub circuit, the old standards, Neil Young, The Eagles, Bob Dylan, etc....  I also wrote and performed a lot of originals.  Nowadays I just write and record here at home.

If anyone is interested in hearing some, shoot me a message and I'll send you a link or something.

Thanks again, and I look forward to getting to know you all better.

Hi Paul.

The site definitely works, we are proof of that. Since you have tried some of the fads you will have noticed that they target specific things and therefor leave you open to others. The Program targets the cause and means to get rid of it overall. CBT works as does group therapy. We have a good group here and hope you will join us. Post often, ask anything and do not be afraid to say how you feel, be it good or bad. This is a good place to vent. Can you point to when or where your agoraphobia started? Some times talking about it makes it less controlling.

Here for you.

Thanks for the welcome sunny.  I'm in it to win it.  Being housebound, this is literally a God send.  Glad to hear it is effective.  I've tried the "fad" stuff, and various meds.  But could never afford or get to a therapist.

Hello Paul:  Welcome to the site.  Sorry to hear of your troubles.  Life sucks sometimes.  I hope you stick with the program - lol, as the saying goes.  Research has shown that CBT is one of the best programs for anxiety and stress related disorders.  Have a look at the posts, past and present.  You will find lots of answers and inspiration.  Hope to hear from you again.

Hi folks,

I am currently home bound, and became this way about 2 years ago.  I used to be a singer/songwriter in Germany.  Traveling from town to town all by myself, singing and playing for 3 hours a night.  Now I can't even make it past the end of my private road (not even that far some days).  I stumbled across this site on a random search, I pray it works.
Last November my wife left me for another man, taking our 3 daughters with her.  Since then, the panic/anxiety have coupled with depression, and I know I have to do something because I'm reaching my wits end.
Well that's me, currently I take .5 mg clonopin twice daily, and .25-.5 xanax on really bad days, though fairly infrequent.  Again, howdy, and I look forward to getting to know some of you. :)
