This was the most important chapter for me, so far. It taught me  how to stop my anxiety from escalating to a panic attack by asking myself the first few questions. I now realize that all my panic episodes start with negative thoughts,  and I am getting so good at reconizing them quickly. For example: Today in the shower I felt a little off-balance, the  negative thought of "what if" this is turning into a panic attack happened. 3 months a go I would have  experienced a full-blown attack,(the panic cycle ) but by  simply asking myself "is this true?", taking a couple deep breathes, thinking, "Well, maybe the floor is a bit slippery"..I was fine. I use this technique so often...I wasn't even aware that I had so many negative thoughts until this program. I almost do it automatically now. Sure, I wish I didn't have so many negative thoughts, but I can't control them popping into my mind, but I can control my reaction to them. And so can everyone else!

I am not new to the program even so I have started reworking the program today.  I have some issues that I am having a hard time dealing with.  Like a dental procedure on Monday,  plus a relationship issue and trying to deal with my emotions without nicotine. I have given up on the quiting smoking for the time being.  I am finding this go though of the program is much different for me than it was 6 months ago.  I am learning more about how to identify and deal with my anxious thoughts this time around.  I think this refresher is going to help a lot.  It is something I need, being that I have changed over the last 6 months.  My mind is more open and ready.  I am seeing it in a new light. I have gotten through lesson 2 so far and may start on lesson 3 tomorrow.  I am taking my time this time around and letting my mind digest the information more slowly.  That the plan for now.
