This is a great post.

As for many here, I have lost all 4 of my grandparents. But I agree about the importanceof family and of getting to know our grandparents. What I have leanred from mine is so valuable to me!

Visiting your grandparents, or even your own parents, is a great idea.
Friends come and go, but family is forever

I have one left too, my maternal grandma. My husband still has all 4 (!). Two of his live in the same city as us - perhaps we should visit them on Sunday!

My Nana is fascinating, and I always loved hearing my Grandma's stories too.

I only have one grandparent left, maybe I should take Sunday to appreciate them while I have the chance...she's Japanese, and I remember when we went to Okinawa 2 years back, we visited the grave site of all the people that jumped the cliff, she recognized one of the names on the shrines as her very good school friend...she's gotta have some great stories.

I too have lost all my grandparents. I've never met my dad's side and met my mom's side maybe 2 or 3 times since all my relatives are in another country.
I wish I got to know them... because I hear stories about some from my parents and they seemed pretty cool.
So for those of you who still have them, please get to know them!

Members,

Let’s try something different!  How about making it about someone else? Sunday is Grandparents Day and worth a look into.  Are you are grandparent? Do you know anyone who is a grandparent? Do you have grandparents?

Take the time to look further into this person life.  Ask questions, give a hug, send a note.  Acknowledging the individual and what they have accomplished is a selfless and fulfilling act.

The history behind the person can be very rewarding and helpful, you never know how they might be able to help and they just might know where you are coming from.

Smile and know you have made someone’s day.
