These are great tips... Thanks! I started taking walks around my house recently but it is only 15 min. but I feel good doing it. I am going to have to work on cutting back on the sweets because I really crave them especially when I am depressed. I am on week 4 after I stopped taking Lexapro and once in a while I still get the jolts/ brain zaps. I am always dizzy still but my doctor says it's because my ears are congested.. but I've never had this problem before.

Hello Everyone, I just wanted to say I agree completely with Alex. The best thing for reducing my anxiety has been a brisk 1 hour walk every day. On days that I don't do it, I'm much more suseptible to anxiety or having a panic attack. (If you do it with a friend who is positive and upbeat, even better). Also, on the advice of my physician, I have eliminated refined sugars from my diet (things like sugar, glucose, fructose, corn syrup, white flour, etc.), which has also helped to reduce my symptoms. Apparently, they cause big fluctuations in insulin levels, which then causes an increase in stress hormone production (for me anyway). Overall, I have found a good diet, exercise and adequate sleep are essential to keeping my anxiety and panic in check. When I get off track with any or all of these, as I tend to do when under stress, the anxiety comes flooding back.

Hi all you guys out there, I have had a terrible experience with clonazepam and prozac, hundreds of side effects including brain zaps continuing for a year or longer after I had gone off the drugs! I was determined to go off the drugs, I find the following have helped me and I an now recovering slowly, without medication: supplementing with Omega 3 exercise, 40 minutes, three times a week better diet: no saturated or trans fats, no sugars, no gluten. absolutely no smoking or alcohol. daily stretching and meditation I hope others can find help in the above, it requires some will power! regards Alex
