Hi PM and welcome to the boards. Congratulations on your decision to quit and the progress you have made so far.
 
In response to your question, yes, moods can be affected by the quitting process. I found myself much more moody when I was reducing my daily nicotine intake (as you are doing now). Each time I decreased my nicotine intake a bit, I'd go through some phases of sad and mad. When I finally quit altogether, and got all of the nicotine out of my system, the mood stuff calmed down a lot. 
 
There are different explanations for this. Some of it has to do with the chemical changes that are going on in your brain. Some of it has to do with grieving the loss of cigarettes. Some of it has to do with the fact that many of us have used cigarettes to manage negative emotions ("Stressed out? have a smoke!" routines), and the fact that we now have to deal with those emotions. People have to learn new coping mechanisms in the quitting process; learning those skills is pretty much what helps us to get and stay quit.

Hi Paul,
 Yes anger is one of the many stages in quitting.  It is normal to feel angry. You're losing one of your best friends that's been close to you for many years, that nasty cigarette. Are you going cold turkey, or using NRT, nicotine replacement therapy? Many people on here went cold turkey, I used the patch. To each their own. Just do whatever it takes! 
 The website has been running slow for the last couple of days. There's a lot to read on here, and if you use the search function for anger, a number of threads should pop up. 
 Hang in there Paul, it's a bumpy ride, but trust me, it will get easier as time goes by.

Hi everyone From PM. I kind of new here. I am trying to quit again and I am in need of support. I smoked about 35 cigs a day and I am down to 10 a day. But trying to not have any. I am in need of some kind of help or support. I feel that I am angry, Is this normal when you try to quit?
