Hey Amanda!!!

Welcome to the SSC and congrats for not giving up on quitting!  It took many of us several attempts to achieve our forever quits and we are all hoping that this one will be yours!  Also, HUGE congrats to you on completing HELL WEEK!!!  That is a major milestone to achieve on your journey and I hope that you rewarded yourself well because you definitely deserve it!

I know your children are a big inspiration for you to gain your freedom and your attitude is in the right place!  You have a great support group at home and you have found another one here!  Know in your heart and mind that you CAN do this and if you ever start to have any doubts, just log in and post!  Start thinking of yourself as a non-smoker now and know that you will remain that way living by N.O.P.E. ... Not One Puff Ever!!!    Freedom is right around the corner and it is totally fantastic!

Keep your eyes on the prize!

Hi whisper,

Congrats on Day 2! Here's to getting through a 3rd one.

BTW, if you are going cold turkey (no NRT's), you should get significant relief from your physical cravings at the end of Day 3/ beginning of Day 4. Hang in there.

Hello Amanda,

What a great decision!  Welcome to SSC.

This is just the beginning of your new life of Freedom!  Don't take your eye off the ball too early though, as the Nicodemon is just waiting for you to do that. It does sound as though you are determined, and that is just what you need to win the war!

Whatever it takes, just don't smoke!!!

Thanks :) , I really wanted to quit for a while , the cost was getting too much and I really wasn't feeling the best I wanted to feel more healthy. My kids have been my biggest motivators . I have 3  children 8 months, 3 years and 8 years old , I didn't think smoking effected them but i never knew how much it actually did until my 8 year old came to me asking why i did it and she wanted me to quit because she wanted me to live a long long time . thats when I really started to think about quitting this is my 3rd attempt in the last few months but i know i can do it :)

Hi Jamet,
It's been 5 days already? Looks like you are over the worst part of the physical side, now it's just mental. For me the mental part was the hardest. Hang it there it will get easier as time goes by, and never let your guard down. It's so easy to slip up. Have you celebrated your 5 days of quit yet? If not you need to, you deserve it. We're here to celebrate with you all of the way!
Keep it up!

Hi Jamet.
Congratulations on your 5 days quit. I too am new to this site and joined today. I haven't started my quit yet, my quit date is tomorrow. I'm so pleased to hear that you are starting to find things getting a little easier after 5 days, this is a great incentive for me. I'll be looking out for your posts and following in your footsteps. Stay strong :)
