Hi J3D1 -

Congrats on your 11 days NOT smoking.  And, being free of the E-vapor for 2!  So, does that mean you are also 2 days NICOTINE FREE?  Or, are you using any other NRTs?

I am on DAY 8, smoke-free, after a short relapse.  Would have been a year, but I blew it.  Back on the saddle like you!

Back on Lozenges, but hope to be NICOTINE FREE the turn of the year.

Hey J3D1!!!

Welcome to the SSC!!!  I'm another who has reaped the benefits of this site and come back to see if I can offer some words of advice and encouragement to all of our new quit buddies here!  Quitting can be one of the hardest things you will ever do due to the addictive nature of nicotine!  But like Penitent says, it CAN be done as long as you crave your freedom more than you want to smoke!

In my case, finding this site and joining in on the Forums was one of the best things I could do to help me quit!  I highly recommend that you go through the Program (click MY PROGRAM above)!  It really helps you through the quitting process.  The TOOLS are also very helpful to help out on your journey towards freedom!  These, along with my NRT of choice and support from everyone here allowed me to defeat the addiction and probably save my life!

Stick close and read and learn whenever you have a few spare moments!  Knowledge is Power and will go a long ways in helping you succeed in quitting!  That and totally living by N.O.P.E., Not One Puff Ever!  You CAN do it!

Hi J3D1,

As Penitent said, I'm paying it forward.  I've been quit 9 years now.

Lots do stay on this site and with those people comes experience, which can help you.  Try searching topics you would like to read. The help is amazing!

Whatever it takes, just don't smoke!

Welcome J3D1,

You've found a very supportive online forum!  As you spend time reading through the forums, you will notice that it is members like Penitent - ex-smokers who understand what it's like to struggle through the withdrawal process and then celebrate their many milestones of living a life of freedom - they are here to help and offer advice as needed.  Don't hesitate to reach out!
When was your quit date?  What strategies are you using to make this your FINAL quit?

Welcome and good luck!

If you want to quit more than you want to smoke, you have a great chance! Just remember N.O.P.E. - an acronym for Not One Puff Ever!! No matter how tough it gets that policy will see you succeed. It may not be easy but it is doable - one day at a time. Even one hour at a time; even 5 minutes at a time!

My story? Come May I will have been quit 10 years. It can be done.

Best of Luck,
Penitent
