Hi daisyfi,

Glad that you came back. Since you are down to two a day, tomorrow's quit should hopefully be a little less painful than some. You can do this.

Thank you everyone,  I not going to quit quitting but need to get myself back in the right place,  I did find it hard coming back on line but when i did and read all the advise, wisdom and encouragement I'm glad I did.  I have been smoking two a day for the last 4 days,  I will get there,  I can quit :)

Hey Daisyfi!!!

Never quit quitting!  All of us need a practice run at this quitting business!  I had quite a few practice runs!!!  Do NOT get down on yourself, consult your list of reasons you are going to quit, get yourself a crave basket and psych yourself up again to regain your freedom!

Stick close get ready to kick that demon's butt!

          You CAN do this!

Daisyfi,

Haven't seen you on the boards in a couple of days..How is your quit going? If you want or need to start over we are here to support you,
or if you are continuing with the quit you already have going that is ok too..The important thing to remember is to "never quit quitting"
Every day is a new day and a fresh start..

Sending postive energy your way today.

Hello daisyfi,

Congratulations on your decision to put this slip behind you and move forward with your quit...

I did the same thing 10 day ago too, minus the wine. I was having a really bad day and of course it got worse because I smoked. The headaches from the cigarettes were awful and my blood pressure starting shooting through the roof..So I did like you I jumped right back on that horse again and continued where I left off..Except I now knew more from this experience and had even more reason to quit and stay quit..

You have learned from you slip too, and you have put it behind you and you have not smoked today..So pat yourself on the back for that and just concern your self with today and consider making a pledge to yourself under the thread titled " What if part III"

I will not smoke today..

Hi daisyfi,

So much great advice already given - just wanted to echo that we are here for you and rooting for you.
You CAN do this!

Don't beat yourself up too much! That could happen to anyone and it doesn't mean you failed or that it's not worth trying again. Is a diet a failure when you have a piece of cake? No, it's just a totally understandable setback that you can learn from to do better in the future. The meaner you are to yourself about this, the more you will want to smoke. You have to be kind to yourself and focus on the good, hard work you have done more than this slip-up.

I'm trying to pay attention right now to the things that really make me want to smoke so I can avoid them for a while. Red wine definitely falls in that category for me, and it sounds like it does for you too. Don't get too bogged down in feeling bad. Just learn from this experience that red wine won't be your drink for the next little bit, and keep on keeping on.

We are all here for you!

daisy,

"what defines us is how well we rise after falling."

if to be a non smoker is truly what you want then you will conquer your addiction.  the good thing is that you are still here and starting over!   strength shows not only in the ability to persist but the ability to start over.

i care.

Daisy, Forgive Yourself, pick yourself up and get right back on the horse.  One slip just means you are human.  Pull out all your pre quit and stay quit materials and reread and recommit.  Then Onward, one hour at a time if you need to!
