Hi Jeremiah!

Sounds like you are going to be rewarding yourself!!!  Enjoy the match with your family!  I bet that they are very proud of your accomplishment!  One day at a time!

Hey Jeremiah!!!

I'm glad you finally got some sleep!  I did a search on "sleep" and found a thread in the Health Educator's Forum and I bumped it forward for you to read.  There are a lot more threads related to the sleep issue.  You might want to do a search yourself and check out some additional threads on sleeplessness.  Also, I read your blog about time moving at a snail's pace!  It's just like watching a clock when there is something that you really want to do, but just can't, right???  Well, I'm sure that part of what you are going through relates to boredom, right?  You could also do a search on that to see what others have done to combat boredom!  Also, I think that the topic was touched upon in the Milestones in the Program, but I'm not sure.  You might check there.  Also, when you are bored grab a pen and paper and try to jot down things that you can think of to do when you are bored!

One other thing that I wanted to mention to you.  The reward thing!  I think that you need to rethink your opinion that you do not need a reward because your quit is reward enough!  Rewards give you something to look forward to!  Like getting to day 7 and finishing Hell Week!  Reward yourself for that accomplishment!  The next 7 days of Heck Week... another nice reward is quite necessary!!!  I rewarded myself every day from day one!!!  My reward was a nice frosty fermented beverage after work!  Hey, it worked for me!  Your reward system doesn't have to be expensive or anything, but you really need something special to get a little endorphin blast in your brain! Something to take place of  the nicotine that you are no longer using that previously provided that endorphin buzz.  You really do deserve a reward... do something fun this weekend as a treat to yourself!!!  There is a thread on the forums somewhere on no cost or low cost rewards!  Check it out!

      Have a great smoke-free weekend!

             Jim

Jim's right Jeremiah the sleep probs will soon settle. Your body is going through massive changes of habit and it's amazing how it materialises. Try the things Jim suggested, or maybe speak to your doc or pharmacist for a short term solution, just until it sorts itself out. Keep up the great work, your days are piling up behind you.

Hey Jeremiah!

Look at you!  4 days under your belt... don't look back!  The sleep thing will work itself out soon!  Try a hot shower before you hop in bed and see if that helps!  If not, you might want to consider talking to a physician and discuss sleep aids to try a downing a couple pints before bed  ... worked for me!!!.

If that's the worse of your non-smoking issues, you really are doing great!!!  Hang in there, buddy... I promise that it will get better!

Way to Go Jeremiah!  You are doing great so far. It will get easier as time goes on too. Stick with us here; read other posts that interest you; drink lots of cold water; change your routine; It's funny how just doing those few things can keep your mind occupied while you get through the first few days.  You're on you way now -  and you CAN DO IT!  Best wishes : ) Eyja
