Hello Katie,

What a day!! So proud of you for not smoking. Did you get a tourist book about London, it is a great walking city and lots of beautiful things to see. I went there a lot for work.  Hope this incident will not discourage you.
Like Karen said it was a big test thrown at you and you did it YEAH!!!
WE are so proud of you this time is the one.

Oh Katie- are you having some tests thrown at you!! My goodness, I am just astounded at your strength and tenacity in the face of all this going on around you- I bet the fight was nasty, and it sort of numbs us for the rest of the day seeing something as awful as that, I know I would have been mortified.
But, Katie, the great thing is you have risen above yet another challenge! so well done to you, thats so terrific.
And yes you're right you must really want to quit to keep on going like you are- you just imagine, when you eventually get back to home 'home' (NY) what a surprise for everyone and a great one too- and how good will you feel then??
Keep on coming here Katie, we are all waiting to hear your journey and are loving your success!

Thanks Karren!  I thought yesterday was tough but today proved to be the biggest hurdle.  I was on the bus today and a fight broke out between two women.  It was utter chaos and I wad lucky not be hurt.  I was rattled and sad that people could do such a thing to each other. However, if there was a time I would smoke, it would have been right after.  Instead I just kept walking and calmed down once I have met my friend for lunch. I can't believe I got through day three and through such a horrifying experience.  I must really want to quit b.c I refuse to give in now.
Thanks everyone for your support. You are all I have during this quit so you mean the world to me.

Congrats KT,    Just think you will not be worrying about finding the spot to smoke, spraying perfume, eating mints to cover up the smell.

Write down all the good reasons, and keep your list handy.   Congrats on the job and training also..

You will stay busy and not be focused on when is the next smoke break.

You did it for 3 months...  remember to right down your triggers. and how you are going to react... a mint, a drink of cold water,... and don't forget to use rewards.. they are important to help reinforce the quit.

Best wishes , bonnie

Z- I made it through the interview and four hours of training.  I even managed to get home thru the madness of London rush-hour without a cigarette.  If I can do it on Day #2 then I can definitely go further.  One day at a time. Deep breath.  Thanks for the congrats. I can't believe I made it.
yay!

KT,
Its great that you got an interview - always good for the self esteem. I hope it went well. PLEASE remember that if you dont get the job, it is NOT a reason to start smoking again (I know - I fell into this trap too many times). Smoking is not gonna make it any better. Ok?! Am crossing fingers for you....
