You can do it, Gin, it's just a slip. Think about why it happened & put a strategy in place so it doesn't happen again. Smoke free days are never wasted. Get right back on & keep quitting with us. Hi Gin, don't feel too guilty- you are being incredibly strong trying to quit (many smokers just put it off to "another day"). And it's great you are sticking with it. How great is the tempation to say "oh well, to hell with it- now I might as well continue and stop sometime else...." And your last quit DID give your lungs a rest. Not all is lost :-) Good luck! Gin,
How many times do I have to keep trying before I'm successful?
When you desire to quit outweights your desire to smoke, you will quit. Don't give up. Quitting is really a tough thing and very few walk away from smoking unscathed. A couple of things I told myself over and over again early on were: 1. Everyday is one day closer to never feeling this way again (this is very true) 2. As long as I don't lite that next cigarette, I've got it made. Dig deep, stand your ground, and refuse to give in to the junkie thinking that wants to take over. As many times as it takes! God knows how many times I tried before I got this one to stick and remember Gin, you only fail when you give up trying! Believe me, you can do this so make this one the last with renewed determination and commitment to succeed. Each day that passes smokefree is one more day closer to a fuller, happier life. How do I know? I'm typing this from that place! Join me! Best Wishes :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/18/2004 Smoke-Free Days: 1263 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 25,260 Amount Saved: 6,315.00 Life Gained: Days: 202 Hrs: 20 Mins: 15 Seconds: 33
