Thanks for the encouragement everyone. I put on the first patch this morning, so far no side effects and everyone in the house is still living haha I just realized how sad it is that Ive had this box of patches for almost a yr and was afraid to use them. I dont know if 'afraid' is the right word but they sat there in the box unused none the less, until now. Welcome asmokefreeme! You've come to an awesome site that provides support with a personal touch! Work the program at the left, read and post as often as you can, arm yourself with coping mechanisms and strategies and most importantly be kind to yourself! This is the beginning of a wonderful journey! Enjoy! Cigarettes Not Smoked

not that i'm proud of it, but i smoked at least 2 packs a day for years. If I wasn't sleeping or seeing a client i was smoking. And look at me....74 days smoke free! Yee hah! This site and chantix was the combo for me. But, I see people who have done pathes, gum, cold turkey with much longer quits. The main ingredient, I think, is the determination. We'll be here, so give a shout any time you want -aloha My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 75 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,000 Amount Saved: $510.00 Life Gained: Days: 10 Hrs: 10 Mins: 59 Seconds: 35

Hi, a smoke free me. Welcome to SSC. There are some people here who were pretty heavy smokers, I seem to remember s couple of 3-pack a dayers. I'm not one, just wanted to say hi & welcome. I'm using the patch too & doing well with it. Good luck! I just happened to run across this site while looking for help and tips to stop smoking. Ive found a lot of helpful info and I look forward to being part of the group. My quit date is tomorrow. I plan to use nicotine patches to help with the cravings. I am a 2 and a half pack a day smoker so Im sure the with drawals will be severe. The survey that compares smokers says I smoke 99% more than other smokers which makes me wonder, is there anyone else here who is also a chain smoker? ~asmokefreeme~
