Thanks for the welcome and wishes everyone, I appreciate it. I am on Day 5, but I continue to think about cigarettes. The cravings are there, but so far I have not let them beat me. There are times I find myself saying "I really enjoyed smoking", almost like I am questioning why I quit. I know why I quit and why I want to remain smoke free, but it is an ongoing battle. What saves me is that I don't have any in the house and would have to make an effort to get them. Also, I had not smoked in my house since my husband quit 8 years ago, so it was always a conscious effort to smoke. I had to get up and go outside. This has saved me, I make myself continue what I am doing and fight the urge to go outside.
I imagine it must be much harder for people who have smoked in their house, or for those in Europe who can smoke everywhere they go. My friend from Germany hated that she couldn't smoke in restaurants over here. Sorry, I'm rambling, and the urge has passed, so Thanks for listening!
I also wanted to say that I think it so great seeing everyone's Quit Meter and how many days of life have been gained by quitting. I am still on just hours, but I can't wait to see my days start adding up!
