Hi MaMa G. Don't beat yourself up over relapsing instead you should be so proud of yourself for not giving up!!! You know this is a great challenge and one that you can win!!! You made it 5 days before and now you might succeed all the way!! I hear your desire to beat this addiction and the patch might just do it. I used the patch and I have 51 days smoke free. I smoked for 26 years at a pack and 1/2 a day. The goal is to quit and you can do this whether you use the patch or some other NRT. Hang in there. Post often and if your having a bad day post no matter what. Remember we have all been there and have had horrible days but by posting we were given the encouragement we needed not to give in but to keep up the fight and win!! Hello All! About 3 weeks ago, I decided to quit smoking. It was a Monday night when I took my last drag and I went for 5 days when I relapsed. I felt terrible lighting that smoke up but I still did it hoping I could get away with just a puff. . . Yeah Right! This Tuesday would have been 3 weeks and I have been smoking on and off since that 1st puff on day 5. I'm so ashamed because I was so weak. This Friday, I'm going to purchase nicoderm patches and start all over because I HATE being a slave to this horrible addiction. I have been a smoker for 17 years and tried atleast 6 times to quit in the past but like I said, I failed miserably every single time! Well, I'm here and checking in to get myself back to a smoke-free life! I want this for the sake of my health and the love of my children. I watched my Dodine pass from Lung Cancer and I never want my children to watch me lay struggling to breathe because I was soooo selfish over smoking. . . I didn't cheat myself, I cheated my family and friends. I don't want to live like this ANYMORE and that is why I'm here, to get over this once and for all! Thanks for listening.
