I'm getting there!

I'm on my 9th day of not smoking although to me that isn't a big milestone since I have tried to quit at least 4 times in the past, the last time was in 2002 when I failed once again I vowed to never try to quit again and kept that promise until now. What's different about this time is that I don't constantly think about cigarettes the way I had before and yesterday I had a very stressful day and became very frustrated the first thing that came to my mind was "I want a cigarette!" But then I realized that I really didn't want one at all and for me that was a great milestone in itself, I know I'm going to make it this time! Thanks for all the positive feedback, I am proud of myself and the reason for the low amount is because I used to take a trip to the Indian reservation once a month to get my cigarettes. Praxin: Well done on 9 days...I think it is a huge achievement and as for the time in 2002, well you no doubt learned alot from it and will apply that knowledge here. The great thing about your post is that your mind has finally really decided it dosent't want a cigarette. I understand that from my own experience. Now comes the part where you begin to develop and use alternative ways of dealing with the difficult times...Sounds to me like your doing just that... Hurry on down to quit town nonic

Good for you on those 9 days Praxin. Hang in there, it just gets better as time goes on. Boy, can I relate to "buying cigarettes from the Indian Reservation" - - I used to think what a great deal I was getting - - yes, a cheaper way to slowly kill myself with those smokes! Breathe deep and enjoy your new life smoke-free - - we're glad your here amoung us. Praxin, Congratulations on day 9! Just as you've replaced/substituted smoking in other areas of your life, try to do the same in this instance. When you're under stress, instead of reaching for a cigarette, you'll reach for... Keep persevering. Danielle ______________________ The SSC Support Team

Hi Praxin First off 9 days is a big milestone and pat yourself on the back for that. Don't downplay your achievement here - every day being smoke free is wonderful and each new realisation is a lesson about our own personal quit. I know you are going to make it this time too - take a look at yourself - you are already doing this. Keep goin and well done All the best sharon My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/14/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 111 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,113 Amount Saved: 298.59 Life Gained: Days: 9 Hrs: 8 Mins: 47 Seconds: 52

welcome paxin, HA! Vowed never to try and quit again! Now, that is committment!LOL! Glad your quit is going so well. YOu were under pressure and realized that smoking is not the answer. Wonderful for you to be smoke free. PS How could you have not smoked 182 cigs and only saved $20.00?? Cigs must be el-cheapo where you live.
