Make up your mind that you want to quit. Then do it. Don't attempt. Don't try. Don't even THINK the word "failure." Just believe that you are strong enough to quit, because you ARE. You are stronger than your addiction, though your addiction would have you believe otherwise. You can do this, if you want to. suzee, Take the journey to the left and find out why you smoke and when you most often smoke. People here are really great. I'm not much of a talker but I do answer some posts. Good luck and you can do this. :p My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/14/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 7 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 156 Amount Saved: $19.25 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 0 Mins: 29 Seconds: 42

Suzee: Welcome. I want you to know one very important thing that will be an enormous help to you in making this indeed your final quit. This is NOT a habit. You are a drug addict -- addiction to nicotine is a very serious addiction. It is only when you learn everything you can about it that you can successfully conquer it. I believe that from my soul! Please read all that you can about this addiction -- then get mad, really mad at all the time, money and health wasted because of your enslavement to nicotine. You CAN change this, but you must want it and you must be prepared. You can do it. Keep the faith My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/8/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 105 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,235 Amount Saved: $840 Life Gained: Days: 13 Hrs: 20 Mins: 19 Seconds: 55

Good Luck this time! Don't worry about all of the past attempts - they are just excess baggage at this point. I tried probably 20 times before I have gotten to the point that I am at - 45 days and counting! I know I can do it this time. While in the back of my mind I know I would restart, the feeling of accomplishment - the increased vitality and general better feeling - are enough to keep me going. The cravings haven't been bad, either. I think because I set my mind to quit. I quit cold turkey and I have several hundred dollars of stop smoking stuff still left - patches, gum, locenges, sprays, inhalers, etc - and I tried Zyban three times. This last attempt has worked because I made up my mind to stop a very bad habit for me. Good Luck and don't hesitate to write if you need an extra shoulder to lean on - we have all been there - and want nothing more than for you to succeed. Suzee, Never will you be a failure! You are learning! Start working through the online quit program located in your glove compartment and reading through the forums. Both will teach you what you need to know about quitting. Happy reading and if you have any questions, just ask! Danielle ________________________ The SSC Support Team

I am new and I have tried to quit smoking before but haven't had much success. Wondering if there is any advice anyone can give on my next attempt as I feel like a failure.
