My hubby is also a smoker. We have always smoked outside so it is not an issue getting him to go outside. However I KNOW he is out there and what he is doing!!!! I found the weekend really, really hard. Does anyone have any other tips for coping with a partner that is still smoking while you are trying to give up? kookaburr i have one of those hubbies.. he has NO intentions of quitting He travels during the week so we really only see each other sat-mon am and i try to ignore that he is sitting in my favorite chair out back smoking... He is supporting my quit but we really don't talk about it. I have no one but you guys to discuss this with. My friends that smoke certainly to not want to talk and my other non smoking friends have no idea what this is like. I guess we have to this for us and only us and not to worry about anyone else today... mon My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/22/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 13 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 278 Amount Saved: $39 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 10 Mins: 17 Seconds: 55

Well Mr. Ed: its certainly is a ride for your money. I had went for a walk with my dogs today and ran into two young ladies along the path smoking. 2 weeks ago i wouldnt have said a word but today i did i told them i was on day 5 of not smoking, they looked at me weird and said congratulations, and then i proceeded to tell them how long i have smoked. Still didnt phase them. I then said well i bet you dont think you will smoke for that long but quess what i hope not but you just might and if you could feel what i am going through you would throw that cig down right now, anyway have a nice day ladies. As I turned around they still had 1/2 a cig left and put them out and continued walking. I chuckled to myself and though I wonder if they will think about it or not. So you see mr.ed when you start to really notice those around you that are ruining their health i think its a road to your own recovery as well, so today was a good day ask me tomorrow. One other point, does tiredness and no energy come with this in the beginning as well

YOu know if i ever win the big lottery i would purchase a large piece of property and make it a haven for us people, because we are the only ones that know what we are going through, and make it a camp of some sort for 2-3-4-5 weeks what ever. Have all the things necessary to help us all through this and reward those who have made it

I must have had 5-6 different dreams which i wont get into but in each dream i was eating flakies, if anyone doesnt know what they are they are a puff pastry with strawberry cream inside really good. I couldnt stop laughing this am about the dreams and atleast this way i wont gain any weight ha ha ha.

I really dont know what i would do without this site. I have a brother out in British Columbia who also has decided to quit. actually he is on day 5 and when i spoke to him last night it was so funny that we both decided to quit without letting the other person know. Anyway i have emailed him this site to look into, and like he says if it has helped his sister quit smoking so far that its gotta be a unbelieveable site with great people and support for me to already going on day 4-not that he didnt have faith in me but new i would need the support which he is so thankful that I do and he will join as well

Good Morning Healthier Me, There are times when I am full of energy and times when I felt I could sleep for a week. So yes, being tired is part of the roller coaster ride. You are doing great. And I think it is wonderful what you said to those girls. You never know, you may have saved their lives.
