Hi, morningglory. Congratulations on 3 days quit. That's an awesome accomplishment! The "urges" will diminish in both intensity and frequency over the next several days. The "junkie thinking" will continue longer, though. That's the thoughts that say you may be one of the lucky ones that smoking won't hurt, or you can have just one (for whatever reason), or that things were easier when you smoked, or .... Just hang in there, Fran. And don't hope you can be a quitter, too. You haven't smoked for 3 days, your are a quitter, right now. :) Shevie My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/23/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 286 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,720 Amount Saved: $1086.8 Life Gained: Days: 53 Hrs: 7 Mins: 38 Seconds: 40

Hi and welcome to the SSC. Read and post here all you can, it will help. Congratulations on a great decision, one that you will be proud of. Try to find ways to distract yourself, reading, watching TV, a movie, a nice soak in the tub or a nice long walk. You have gone 3 days and thats usually the hardest time, it should get better now. Its not easy but its worth it!!!
I hope I can be a quitter too.
Hooray!!! You ARE a quitter. Three days under your belt is awesome, Fran. I think today you should give yourself a reward...a walk in a beautiful place, a nice dinner, a new CD, or movie. Remember, it's all about you right now. Do whatever it takes to keep this quit. I know you don't want to repeat those 3 days!
