Welcome Gary,

I am sorry to read how you have been feeling. Losing a job can trigger anxious feelings in anyone; especially since you have been battling anxiety for sometime now, untreated. I am so glad you found us. This program, which is based on Cognitive Behaviour Therapy will teach you the skills you need to start to feel better. The community will give you the support you need to keep moving forward. I also encourage you to speak to your family doctor about how you have been feeling. Medication may not be the right route for everyone; but, it is always a positive to know what options you have available to you. Research shows us that the most effective treatment for anxiety disorders is Cognitive Behaviour Therapy with medication.

I am glad you have decided to start the program this weekend. Be sure to let us know how it goes. We are here to answer any questions you may have.

I'm soooooo glad you posted. I was beginning to worry that there was not many people posting lol. I can totally understand how you feel. I think my stress and anxiety is getting worse with time too. I can leave my house but I get super stressed when I even think about driving or meeting up with people. I have started the program and so far I really like it. I am really hopeful it will help. I hope it starts helping you soon. I have already noticed some small difference so that makes me really pumped about the future. On to session 3 as soon as a get t he motivation to get started. I find I always procrastinate but once I get started it's easier than i thought. u should give it a shot!!!

Gary here.

I hope I am doing this right. Im new to this group and not used to talking about anxiety. I have recently lost my job and my anxiety is getting worse. I have always been stressed but I just learning that my level of stress probably isn't just stress. I don't really talk to anyone about how I feel but I have done some research and figured out I really need to get this under control. Whatever is wrong with me is not normal and I am having trouble coping. I have been having trouble leaving the house which has not been a problem before. I am not sure if I should be talking to my doctor? I don't really want to talk to anyone about it other then people who have experienced what I am going through. I am glad there are websites like this where I can talk openly and anonymously. I am not embarrssed or anything I just don't want people to know. my family knows something is up but they don't know how bad I have been feeling. Does anyone else get anxious just thinking about leaving the house? I don't even know why I am anxious I just always feel stressed.

This program looks interesting. has anyone had any success with it yet?
