Nicotine patches

Thanks for the advice, the 'under the collar bone' suggestion is working wonderfully also holding it on for a full minute helped tremendously. I didnt think about the warming part, I just assumed that pressing it on was enough. Fantastic tips, thank you all My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/10/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 3 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 150 Amount Saved: $24.38 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 7 Mins: 11 Seconds: 19

Hello everyone :)

I appologize for not introducing myself and saying 'hello' before now. I was experiencing SEVERE withdrawals from my 50-60 cigs a day habit. At first visiting this site only made me think about cigs more so I stayed away until I had a little better control of myself lol. Anywho.. my name is Tammy Im a 37 yr old stay at home mom of two wonderful kids ages 10 & 13. I decided to quit smoking on Dec 7th (my 37th birthday) but waited until a Monday Dec 10th to actually quit. Im now starting on my 10th day smokefree and I feel really good about this quit (my 2nd attempt) I find that Im MOST tempted to smoke during stressful times. Whether its ...putting my 13 yr old son 'in his place' or taking my 77 yr old mother Christmas shopping, you know those 'I wanna pull my hair out' days lol ... thats when I feel the urge to smoke. I keep telling myself "If I can make it through this smokefree, I can make it through anything" So far its working, I know its only day 10 but Im hanging in there ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/10/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 9 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 450 Amount Saved: $73.13 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 19 Mins: 17 Seconds: 1

Hello everyone :)

Thank you everyone for the kind welcome. Its great to know I have support from people who know what Im going through. The non smokers in my life have the greatest intentions but they just dont 'get it' lol Alohakeia.. I tried a couple of names that were not available, the 'Frosty the snowman' song was playing on TV so I typed it in... low and behold it went thru LOL I really wasnt expecting it to work Brenna.... yes, for my 1 week reward a 'non smoker' friend and I went to the rainforest cafe and the theater. my daily reward is a bubble bath with a good book. I survived!

Ok so maybe its not a 'milestone' achievement but I survived my first Christmas at the inlaws without a cig and Im pleased as punch about it. I knew it was gonna be a real test, after 17 yrs you'd think Id be used to it but it still stresses me out. Anyway, I made it through with out smoking and without tearing anyones head off lol Another "if I can survive this without a cig, I can survive anything" moment to add to my list ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/10/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 15 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 750 Amount Saved: $121.88 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 8 Mins: 31 Seconds: 54

Smells...Good or Bad

I keep waiting for the increased smelling ability Ive read about but so far the only thing I can really smell is a cig. Ive heard everyone talk about how bad they stink but I gotta be honest, they smell wonderful to me. Because I like.. LOVE... the smell so much I know its a temptation so I get away from it immediately but Id be lying if I said I didnt want to stay and just smell it.. however I know that would eventually lead to just one puff, just one cig, pretty soon Id be a smoker again.... walking away almost makes me want to cry, but I keep walking away in the hopes that someday it wont bother me as much as it does now. Sorry if this post seems a bit random and scattered, Im recovering from a b-day party with 14 giggling 11 yr old girls LOL but I survived it smokefree ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/10/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 27 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,350 Amount Saved: $219.38 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 10 Mins: 14 Seconds: 23

Anyone tried 'Curves'

I've gained 10 lbs since quitting, I had some weight to lose before I quit but now its just too much and time to do something about it. Anyway theres a Curves for Women center very close by and I wondered if anyone here had ever tried it or had an opinion about it?? Anyone tried 'Curves'

I must admit one of the main reasons I joined Curves is for the socializing. Many of my (smoking) friends dont come around much anymore. Im getting lonely and bored, I something positive to do to keep me busy.
