Fantastic attitude!
The whole of quitting is tough.
Replacing an old, unhealthy, habit with a new, healthy, habit is awesome.
Stay Strong.
Keep posting and letting us know how you are doing.

The taste thing has changed over the course of my quit. I am wanting more and more powerful flavours.
I come here and post very often, the writing helps to move through the crave.
Lots of deep breathing.
If I start to crave while I am out walking, either on my way somewhere or with the dog. I turn around and go in the opposite direction for a few moments. I get to reposition myself this way and take control.
I purposefully stay away from public places where there is smoking allowed. Fortunately where I live these places are few far between and outside.
I fastidiously clean my house.

Meg
For the last 10 days or so I have been having very bad head aches. They make me want to sleep, and are more pronounced when thay are attached to a dizzy spell. (Me Dizzy - Oh yes!) In any case these are on a list of little worries that I am checking out with my doctor. One small thing that I do know is that I got these head aches the last time I quit and they were at about the same time in the quit. I had a whole raft of tests from stress and halter monitors to MRI's and brain wave scans, months and months of tests and what I got back was that I was having an atypical migraine headache. I could have put more energy into the quit and I became frantically worried that there was something very wrong with me physically. There was nothing really and I feel like I worried for nothing.
Cutting to the chase sorry about the ramble. Go to the doctor check it out and don't let the worry or stress drive you from your quit.
Have a great weekend
Phillip
Oh and by the way I started swimming again and got back into a regular schedule and felt much better, thanks for the suggestion.

This is an amazing and so volotile topic.
I love it gets my dopamine going because I am smiling all the time.

I hope that I can resist the temptation whenever the temptation happens. I say this knowing the little boy who was told to resist temptation and I would still stick my finger into the icing on the cake. I also know from reading and re-reading this thread, that if I did smoke I would be smoking forever. I have worked at this from so many angles and so many different methods to quit and nothing has worked. So I get to where I am here working it out on day at a time and one moment at a time. Who would have ever thougt that dealing with something the slow painful way might actually work.
I am totally with you ROB47 I never want to take the chance. no matter 3 years 3 days or months I hope that I will be able to resit and absolutely not take the chance.

You are correct. It is a choice.
Depression is a nasty and very tough place to be and to get out of, when you choose to move, when you are ready to move, please come here.
If you get back on your quit, if you decide to quit, please come back. This is a supportive and vibrant place where people can unburden and find new ways, new choices. If and when you do come back I will be here for you and I will be watching for you.

Hooray. Getting through a big test. Getting through something that worried you. You did it!
Groovekitty is a very wise cat. Those craves can come from who knows where and we always need to be prepared.
Thanks Alexa for posting and being part of this little family.
Congratulations. Job well done.
