Removing the smoke smell from your car

When I said that I would not smoke in the car, I stopped , and even though I smoked I could really smell the smoke whenever I was in the car. I tried all kinds of things and I eventually took the car in and had the whole interior shampooed, like they took the seats out and cleaned them, carpets steam cleaned, and the whole interior detailed, I also had the air conditioning and heating system cleaned out. The place I took this to cleaned cars for resellers. It cost a lot and the car has smelled fresh ever sense. Rd Man The Quit and all the Stories

I just posted this in a wake up call thread and I would like it here in this threadas well. Although I have bumped this (the What was your wake up moment thread) several times I have never told my story. My wake up call happened at the dentist last October as he was removing a moral that had died, just died. It was a big thing for me. The dentist asked me to quit and I was able to quit for most of 36 hours and I was a mess. I had tried to quit a couple of years ago and around the 30 day mark I got dizzy and had a lot of feeelings that I was unable to deal with. Two years before, I had tried to quit after caring for my sister as she died of metastatic breast cancer, she never smoked a day in her life. Her death scared me, I looked into my family health history, many of my uncles on both sides of my family died of lung cancer or heart disease. I have seen people wasting away in hospital and cared for them as they died of non smoking related disease. he thought of my death in so vulnerable a way from a smoking related disease, that I was responsible for jarred my deep sleep. If that tooth could die just like that I was sure that I could die as well. My own mortality hit me and I woke up, in a panic mind you. I spent several months preparing for my quit. Finally in February I was ready. I did do it, I stuck to my guns and I quit. It is one of the hardest things that I have ever done and is also one of the most rewarding. Phillip. Rd Man The Quit and all the Stories

Well well well. Another day has rolled by on the old odometer, or was that checkitoutnosmokingometer, whatever that thingy is there are a bunch more not smoked and another day has rolled by. Hooray. I did not smoke. Today was not without it challenges. My collegue from work called this afternoon to say no Wednesday meeting but a Monday afternoon meeting would be better. I am scared and nervous as it was and moving it up like that and I wanted this nasty meeting so, and even now the thought of this meeting has me all tingly and on edge. I did not smoke! I was also very headachy this afternoon and I took a sinus decongestant, because the head ache was nasal and very sinousy. and I felt better. I did not smoke. Was all alone for a couple of hours this afternoon and had some sneaky addict stuff, "Like you could just run around to the market and pick up a pack". Then I thought no lighter, and how will I actually get that smell off me, before anyone gets home. I did not smoke. So I am making progress cause I DID NOT SMOKE! :p Hooray, another day. That I did not smoke. Bright Sunny Day and I want t Smoke

It is a bright sunny day. Clear and warm and just like it was when I would enjoy smoking. I am also nervous, scared and a little intimidated by this meeting that I am going into. Just the time when I would smoke. Because of the emotion, I feel panicy and my heart rate is a little up, I take deep breaths and this exact feeling was where I would be when I would deek out of a meeting or get away from whatever it was that I was doing and smoke. There seem to be this barage of moments that are flooding over me that are like before, in that other life when I was a smoker. I wouldexit or placate all the emotion or whatever it was that I was feeling by having a cigarette. All I can do right now is concentrate one moment at a time, and continuosly tell myself that I no longer smoke. Anyone have any feed back to actually get through the cravings cause they seem to back one onto the other and seem like one long yearning to fill my lungs with smoke. A shakey cry for help. And I know that I am not going through all of this again so I am just not going to smoke. Did I answer my own question? ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? I want to be a social smoker

For me, I can not mend the fence while I am sitting on it. I am either on or off. I know that I can not smoke one. OMG it would be like eating one grain of rice or one peanut. Good Luck.
